Empowering Lives Guardianship Services LLC
ELGS is following the CDC recommendation stated May 13, 2021. That recommendation states "that fully vaccinated people no longer need to wear a mask or physically distance in any setting, except where required by federal, state, local, tribal, or territorial laws, rules, and regulations, including local business and workplace guidance."
As of July 21, 2021, Governor Roy Cooper stated that NC remains under a State of Emergency for Covid-19 and 71 of the 100 NC Counties have a mask mandate in effect. So, concerning visits, ELGS is defaulting to NC DHHS Recommendations and the Service Providers Covid-19 Protocols, whichever is more restrictive.
While it is everyone's right to decide whether of not to get vaccinated, please understand it is also the right of a residential provider or other service provider to refuse to work with an individual who has been potentially exposed to Covid-19 by unvaccinated family and/or friends until a 14 day quarantine and a negative Covid-19 test is documented. Additionally, family and/or friends traveling to NC from National Hot Spots such as Florida, may be be further restricted from face to face visits with their loved one due to the potential exposure to potential carrying of the virus to others in their residential or other congregate settings who may be at high risk.
Please feel free to speak with your guardian representative about the availability of virtual visits.
