ABOUT

Management

The management team at Empowering Lives Guardianship Services LLC is comprised of Cassandra Massenburg and Stacey Skradski. Together they bring a unique and creative approach to the guardianship decision making process and services. They have almost 30 years of combined guardianship experience in the State of North Carolina and over thirty-five years of combined direct care and care coordination for those individuals who receive mental health, intellectual developmental disability and substance abuse services.  They have worked in the private and public sectors, gaining a great deal of knowledge along the way.

Both Cassandra and Stacey rode the waves of change in the NC Mental Health, Intellectual Developmental Disability and Substance Abuse Service system and in 2007  found themselves working at CenterPoint Human Services, a Local Management Entity (LME) in guardianship.  In 2010 the wave of change was Medicaid Waivers and the need for the LME and Adult Guardianship to separate to avoid even the appearance of a conflict of interest.  At that time, Cassandra and Stacey were encouraged to venture out into the business world and develop their own guardianship program.  Borrowing ideas from the infrastructure at CenterPoint Human Services, Cassandra and Stacey built Empowering Lives Guardianship Services LLC.

Cassandra and Stacey hold true to their original values and desires to provide ethical, recovery oriented guardianship through participation in county and State workgroups, State Organizations and education.  They encourage their staff to do the same.  A common ELGS saying. "When one shines we all shine!"
